Wonderful people!

I love this trash company. They gave me a better deal than anyone else and delivered my cans within the week. Other companies were going to make me wait 3 weeks. After moving I couldnt wait that long. They also wait for us to bring the can to the road if they see we forgot the night before. I would recommend them to everyone!

I originally had service with Liberty, which was fine. Shortly after American took over Liberty I changed to Cycleworks(which is great). I received a bill for $20 from American to pick up the can. There was no contract or agreement for this service which specified any such fee. Two years later I mistakenly sent them a check that should have gone to my current provider. Well they not only took the $20 but so far two and a half months after asking for my mistaken payment, I haven't received the balance. Beware of doing business with the company.

My recycles weren't being pick...

My recycles weren't being pickup 2 weeks consecutively and when I called to inform them about that and asked if they would prorate the missed service, the customer service representative I spoke with said that I was supposed to called them immediately for service or wait until I have another missed pickup before they would doing anything. Really??? Additionally, she would not discuss further and said that if I have another missed pickup, call in again and that would be the next discussion. Seriously. I was speechless. Frankly, if I have to call in again for them to pickup the recycles, I wouldn't use them any more. Not with this type of customer service. Not worth it.

I was told by their salesman that they would pick up "unlimited" amounts of extra bags of garbage. (He was cocky and sarcastic when he was mentioning this) So, last week I was late rolling out my can... the truck was driving away as I was rolling it out (they saw me btw). I left my full can out there for the week and used black garbage bags for this weeks' garbage. Low and behold, after this week's garbage pick up, my can is empty but all the bags are still there. I called CS and they questioned me about what was in the bags (garbage is garbage) and the guy on the phone said it was because I had "clean out" stuff in there. It must have been the fact that I said the word garage stuff in the description of my garbage that tipped him to the fact that this was "clean out" stuff. Yes, my husband generates some garbage in the garage. They are sending out a crew to investigate what my garbage really is. I just want to mention that I used to have Waste Management. I live on an isolated street and one week some people dumped old carpeting and pads on the side of the street. The Waste Management guys not only always picked up my regular garbage but they picked up the dumped stuff that did not have to without even being asked. I can't tell you how fast I am going back to them as soon as my contract is over. The lesson I learned here is you get what you pay for, the extra cost of Waste Management is more than worth the hassle factor and poor customer service that you get from American Disposal.

I don't understand all the negative comments. If I had seen them before starting with American Disposal - I probably wouldn't have.



But I have been with them since 2011. I have had no problems.. They pick up on time. Don't make a lot of noise. Leave the cans where they were placed - ie: not in the street.



Whenever I have had a question - they have answered timely.



I would definitely recommend them.

This outfit does not have the trucks or staff to service all the new accounts they have. They are trying real hard, but they got in too deep too fast. Our biggest issue is the EXTREMELY high cost for what they call "additional" items. They charged us $75.00 for a part of an old sectional. For that price I could have taken it to the dump myself and had money left over for a nice lunch.

The worst service I have ever seen. I can't express strongly enough how horrible they are other than to say THEY SUCK!!!!!!!!! Stay far away from this disaster of a company. One star is grossly inflating the rating they deserve.

Yea, sucked in by Liberty door to door as well. As with a lot of others, they were good until they sold out to American. They consistently miss our pickup after a holiday. Now they want more money (raising rate). They're out !!!!!!

I was with American Disposal Services for 6 months to a year after they came through our neighborhood offering a lower price than my previous service with recycling pickup, which is what really hooked me. I only put my trash cans out for pickup about once a month and for the first few months, they consistently picked it up the first time I put it out. One time, though, they missed it one week, so I put it out the next week and they came to get it. I didn't think much of it because most of my neighbors had recently switched away from American and I assumed the driver didn't always venture into my neighborhood to pick up just my trash. I put the trash and recycling out several weeks later and again, they failed to pick it up, so I put it out the following week. They didn't pick it up that time either, so I gave them a call sometime in February 2012. The representative was very nice and apologetic and said she'd added a note for the driver to make sure they picked it up the next week. Things were fine again for the next several times that I put it out, but they slipped up again 2 weeks in a row in June, so I gave them a call again. Again a nice representative and they managed to pick it up the following week. The next time I put it out in late July, however, they slipped up 4 weeks in a row. Fed up with their continual failure to render services, I decided to change services and called American in August to cancel my service with them. Again, the representative was apologetic, but I could not be swayed back to them. I then received a bill from them for the 1 month of service since I had last paid them, but I obviously refused to pay it because they hadn't actually rendered services for that month...which is the reason I canceled my service. After receiving a few more bills, I decided to give them a call to let them know that I would not be paying for services that I never received. The representative was very nice, again, but said that she could not approve a credit for the $10.74 and that it must taken care of by her superior. He called me in a timely manner, which is much appreciated, but he was immediately not receptive to my refusal to pay for services that were not rendered. He insisted that I should have called again to let them know rather than canceling, but I believe that's an unreasonable expectation. In the end, I told him that I would not be paying it and his final response was "Well, it is up to you whether or not to pay it, but I can't offer a credit for services that were rendered". I simply hung up in disgust because my previously calm insistence that the services were not rendered for that month obviously fell on deaf ears. I don't care about the $10.74, it means very little to me, but I refuse to pay for something that I never actually received.

Buyer BEWARE. THEY DON'T DESE...

Buyer BEWARE. THEY DON'T DESERVE A STAR AT ALL. They are all about charging extra, raising fees, even CHARGING EXTRA TO CANCEL just because they CAN. They know nothing about customer service. Save yourself a lot of aggravation...try to renegotiate with your existing service before you ever think of switching to American based on price because they will be raising your 'introductory price' before you ever know what hit you. Phony insulting arrogant people you won't enjoy dealing with ever.

Tied up $200 because of THEIR negligence!!

I am SO extremely dissatisfied with this company and don't want anyone to have to go through what I've just gone through with them. We cancelled our service with this company back in 06/2012 and switched to a new one. Well a month after we cancelled I received a voicemail from a representative that they had received our request to cancel but to give them another chance for a lower rate. We chose not to take advantage of that offer because we were already using our current provider who offered a lot better services to us. I never called this representative back but I did save the voicemail which was from 07/2012. After we cancelled I tried to get them to pick up the old cans but never received a response from them on when they would pick them up, we left our cans out at the curb on regular pickup day for 2 weeks after canceling but they never picked them up. So we've just had them sitting on the side of the house for months. I receive in my email an invoice for $200 in OCTOBER for not returning the cans. I immediately called and spoke with a gentleman who I told about our attempts to return the cans and I wanted to make sure they finally got picked up but I wanted to be assured that my account would not be drafted the $200. We set up a date for the cans to be picked up, the earliest date they could get them he told me was 2 weeks out. He assured me that the money would not be autodrafted, even that their company could NOT autodraft my account since I canceled with them. Lo and behold a WEEK later my account has been drafted the $200. I called up the company again and spoke with a lady who initially argued with me and told me after the third attempt to pick them up that they charge the account. I told her no one had ever attempted to pick them up OR contact me about it, which she then proceeded to tell me certain dates they had driven by our house and what cars were in the driveway but no one EVER contacted us about them. She told me dates they called or emailed and lucky for me I save all of my emails and voicemails and have no records of their calls or email since that lower rate offer in my voicemail in 07/2012. I explained that the gentleman I spoke with the week before assured me that my account wouldn't be touched and she tried to blame my current disposal company saying once the new company cancelled for us that American disposal can't contact us regarding the cancellation. Nothing she was telling me made any sense. She finally agreed to go listen to the recorded conversation I had with the previous representative. Once she and the manager reviewed it she called me and told me to put the cans out as soon as possible and that they would have someone come get them and our money would have to be mailed to us within 5-7 business days. A truck was here to pick up our cans within an hour after her call. Amazing that they have time to pick them up when you call to tell them you will call the news or do whatever you have to do to set things straight. I am so disappointed with this company and one star really is too much to give them. I had never looked up reviews for them now and am amazed to see all the low reviews and disappointment but I can't say I'm surprised now after what we have been through. Do not use this company whatever you do. There are plenty of other great and reputable sanitation companies to use and I'm even paying more for our new service and I'd pay double just so I don't have to use American!

THE WORST SERVICE and CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever dealt with. After missing several pickups and then raising rates, I cancelled service. They are CHARGING a cancellation fee of $20 (for administrative work, reprinting of route sheets and pickup/refurbishing of the canisters). Once I was in contact with a manager - he was the most belligerent, rude and offensive person I have ever encountered. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!! (one star is too many to give)

Not even worth a single star!! Run fast and run far away from these guys! SCAM artists - bullies...come into our neighborhood after they bought Dixie Sanitation and raised the prices then wonder why we cancelled them - now they are trying to cause issue with folks who actually paid for their cans - they want them back. Sent our names to a collection agency...guess they have lots of time on their hands. I will always tell people about the lack of professionalism.

I had a terrible experience with this company. They took over my trash service (I had paid for the whole year); but, then kept my $17 credit and billed me for $3 when I did not renew with them for the following year. I never agreed to the $20 cancellation fee and was even told that this did not apply to me. Also, they never sent me the trashcan stickers that I asked for twice. They said they sent them but again they did not do what they said they would do. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL!! Even a one-star rating is too good for them.

No Stars Deserved

Since American('t) Disposal took over Liberty we have had nothing but problems. The container is left in the middle of the driveway so we have to get out and move it just to pull in and its usually on its side. I called to complain (Do you live in a windy area? Uh no) and was told it would be taken care of. I told them I wanted to cancel my service with them and she dropped the rate down to $12 if we would stay with them and I fell for it and stayed. Then I actually came home during the next pick up and while waiting for the truck to move so I could pull in, the guy looked at me, shoved the can into the middle of the drive way and laughed, jumped on the truck and off they go. We just got off the phone with the office and after almost 2 hours of being put on hold, told they didn't know what our rate was but we owed $110 and that if we canceled we would be charged a $40 fee even though we haven't signed a renewal contract. These people are bandits and/or liars or just plain incompetent.
