12yrs of owning my own boat before I finally was referred a mechanic that I trust...........Dave is the man, no bs, just a straight shooter. He'll get you back on the water quick and he takes the time to over see the small things that most overlook. If you second guess your shop get rid of them and go to Smiley's, you won't regret it!

Found Dave on Craigslist and thought I would give him a shot. And I am so happy I did! I took my boat out yesterday and it has never run so good! I can't say enough, he is the only person I will bring my boat to. Everything was exactly what he said it would be. Thank you Dave! and to the guy with the bad reviews on here... boating isn't for everyone, it's a luxury! If you can't afford it don't do it!

My expierience with Smiley's Boat Repair was excelient.He was not only very knowledgeable but very fair. He is also very fair on prices.And avery nice in general. I would recommend him to work on your boat with out a doubt.

This man has the best prices that I have yet to see for boat repair, and he will do exactly what he tells you that he will do. When you want a real honest experience with a mechanic, Smiley is your man!

This guy is a big rip off and lies to his customer,and tells you he did all this extras for no charge, when he has over charged you from the start. He makes it sound so hard to do the work when it only take a 4th of the time he tells you. Smileys is a rip of he lies to his customers Think about If he is so good and cheep way doesn't he have more boats to be working on. Out at the Marines on Lake Pleasant (the boat owners) they tell not to us him.

$350.00 for new bearings , seals for upper and low unit. So think about it he said $1,150.00 to do it. The parts came to $350.00 It takes 6 hours to rebuild outdrive 6 hours X $70.00 hour = $420.00 + 350.00 parts= $770.00That doesn’t calculate to $1,150.00 to me, His hour rate is more like $ 133.00 an hourThe going rate for work on a motor is $85.00 to $90.00 an hour not $133.00 hour.You can get all the pricing of part from www.sterndrive.info/ for Sterndrive & out board motors. My company charges the same price to the customer as sterndrive info does anyone for parts.I would not use Smiley’s bout repair for any thing. He uses used parts. And way to high priced.

, I ask her to have him give me a call, he didn’t I waited another two days and called again, I got Dave this time (7 day have gone by now) he said he need a another day , what could I say but ok, still thinking the estimate is free. A day went by and no Dave so I call him the day after he said he was going to call me after 8 tries I finally got him. He said the outdrive need new gear set that a bearing had weld its self to the shaft, He wanted to put used gears (for 350.00) in it and it would cost $ 1,150.00. I went on the net and look up the parts they all come up to $650.00 with new gears, bearing and seals. I said I had to think about it, he said there would be $70.00 estimate fee if he didn’t do the work. Well as a marina owner in another state, I now that is very high. So I gave him his $70.00 and took the shaft that had the bearing that he said was weld on it and pressed it off, the shaft is fine had new bearing pressed on and the hole thing cost me a told of $350.00 for new

I would first like to say I am a marina owner in another state visiting AZ for the winter. When I got to Smiley’s boat repair there wasn’t but one boat there which made me leery. If my marina was that slow, I would close the doors, we always have 15 to 20 unites (boats to snowmobiles) to work on. I have a staff of 8 full time mechanics and 3 sales people. We have been in business for over 60 years. We service over 900 boats and snowmobiles a yearARE ESTIMATES ARE ALWAYS FREE. IT’S ONLY FAIR TO THE CUSTOMERS.I took my OMC outdrive to Smiley’s boat repair. I ask how much are your estimate Dave told me they are free no change, he even put a line though it on the paper work. He said he would need the outdrive for a couple of day to check it out, and that he would get back to me in 3 days well 5 day went by and no call from Smiley’s, so I called him his wife (girl friend ) answered the phone she said he was out at the lake,

My name is Bob Wenzel, I'm down here from Alaska getting some medical treatments for cancer, and visiting my older Brother. I decided to buy a used boat, and motor so we could fish this hot weekend. I called around, and was reffered to Smiey's. Upon looking at the motor Dave noticed I needed gasket's for the carb's. He told me that to order them from Yamaha could take up to two wk's. Although dissapointed, I agreed to leave the boat, and motor. Dave called me the following day, telling me he called around, and got the part's locally. While picking up the boat Dave mentioned he had fixed a number of other problem's, and would not be chargeing me for these x-tra's! Whoever wrote the bad review's about Smily's either is a competier, or has some serious mental problem's cause Dave treated me, and my boat excellent! Thank's again Dave!! He not as cheep as he thinks he is.he works slow to make for his hourly

I took my boat to Dave He told me he need it a couple of day well 2 weeks latter and sill no call from Dave, So I called him, he said he needed a couple more day MMMMMMMMMM Does this guy know any thing about boat??. The last shop took 15 Minutes for the same thing.A no there 5 days have gone by and I have not herd from Dave. So I called him, he told me it what it would cost to fix my boat, MMMMMMM He says he’s cheap he wants $380.00 more then the other shops. Pulse it’s taken him 3 weeks to come up with an estimate.Plus he wanted $70.00 for the estimate; He is a real rip offHow long would it take him to do the work mmmmm maybe 6 Mouths to a year? He is a real rip off

Dave was very accommodating to us when we wanted an honest opinion of our boat. He told us frankly about the repairs needed and we were happy with the decision we made as a result. Count on Smiley's for honest, down-to-earth service.

Just wanted to say that Dave did a great job repairing my boat. The price was reasonable and the job was done well and in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend Smiley's Boat Repair.

TOP NOTCH!!! Smiley was a great guy and helped me more than needed at this Charity Tourney held on Roosevelt Lake yesterday. I managed to have Dave sponsor me in the tournament and he did a little work on my boat before we took off to fish. A couple motor problems on my boat and he had it going at close to full throttle with minimal tools. Dave put his time in at this charity event and did a heck of a job. Mesa PD also put on one heck of a tourney. A really fun time but not a lot of fish caught between the 25 boats. It was tough out there. Good raffle prized by both Mesa PD and Smiley's Boat Repair. I had one of the best times I have had in a tourney in a while.To say the least, I trust Smiley to get the job done. In fact, I have a 1998 Mercury that has some problems and sent my boat with Dave to Mesa to get it taken care of. Quick work and diagnosis has me hooked (no pun intended) on his boat repair. No doubt one of the most honest and nice boat repair guys I have met.

Great service, Great price, Quick, Honest, ETC, ETC. Can't say enough.
