Provided by YPmobileI gave them 3 stars because they did save my dog from a rattlesnake bite. But the charges are outrageous.they charged $1,400 for one dose of anti venom when I called the other emergency pet care in Stuart Florida they charged 700 she told me some story about how it depends on when they get it and that's how they charge.I owe them a balance of 1154.00 after having paid over $2500 and there was a problem with my credit card that I needed to clear up and she would not let me wait until the next morning to come in to finish paying for their services.the problem with the credit card was a small mistake on a payment that was made and all I had to do was pay 20 dollars on the credit card to bring it back to where it would work and she knew that that was what the problem was but she was on willing to work with me. I understand that some people might leave and never pay the balance but I had to bring the dog back the next day to go into the hyperbaric chamber. So I had to run to Sams all the way back to Port Saint Lucie to do that pay the $20 go all the way back to Fort Pierce to give her the credit card to pay the balance and it really bothered me that she couldn't trust me enough to wait till morning. She already got over $2500 and my dog needed further treatment I wasn't going to stick her with the balance but she couldn't trust me. But thank God my dog is in good shape now and I'm thankful that at least it was there for him to get the help he needed.

Provided by YP.comI am so thankful to AERC. I went to see Dr Phillips when my dog Holly was limping. Come to find out she will need bilateral TTA's. I was really scared but Dr. Phillips took her time to explain everything and to outline a plan for me leading up to surgery.

Provided by YPmobileLive dogs enter the front door and dead dogs come out the back in a plastic bag. They even had the audacity to change $47 of their exorbitant $3633 fee for "hold body fee". Not even a full 48 hours to return my dog dead. They pad the bill, their major concern being collection and are insensitive. Last time there for sure!

Provided by YP.comI feel so strongly about this place, I really want other yelp-ers to know about this place (yep- crazy cat lady right here)
I feel like this might be the most important yelp review I have ever written. While on vacation in Florida, my husband and I found that our 2 and a half year old cat, Milton was unresponsive, we quickly looked up the closest 24hr emergency vet (as it was about 10PM on a weekend) and away we went.
The Animal Emergency and Referral Center was clear from the very beginning, they gave us concise options, explained the costs associated with the surgery (our cat had eaten a shoelace, and had a linear bowel obstruction) If he hadn't of been taken to AERC he would not be alive, I wouldn't have my baby to snuggle up with every day, I am so grateful for Dr. Phillips, the staff at the hospital (for the surgery and immediate emergency care) for the care, patience and dealing with my crazy cat-lady panic, they let me come in and try to feed my cat, deferred to me with any and all decisions, and truly made me feel like the most important patient in the world. Yes, it was expensive, as all emergency vets are... but priceless is the care and attention they provide for the animals that come in... most importantly they saved my cat, and I will be forever grateful.

Provided by YP.comI hope you are not reading this while facing an emergency, but if you are call them now (772) 466-3441. Nothing but praise for Dr. Wasserman, Dr. Phillips and their professional staff.
We had a true emergency on a Sunday afternoon, our 14mo Labrador lacerated her right rear foot while swimming in the Indian River Lagoon. Not knowing where to go we immediately conducted an on line search. Animal Emergency and Referral Center was the only place that immediately provided a sense of calm, professionalism, and genuine concern over the phone.
Upon our arrival we were greeted by a very friendly technician that immediately conducted a physical examination, then a no-nonsense tech came into the room to take vitals. A few minutes later Dr. Wasserman, completely up-to-speed, came in to physically examine our dog. She immediately told us about her emergency surgery plan and that the surgeon, Dr. Phillips, was already on her way in.
Paperwork was quickly generated, and explained. Upon our signature authorization and 50% payment our dog was in surgery.
We received a post op phone call letting us know our dog was doing well, and when we could return for pick up.
Two days later we received a follow up call from the AERC to followup on our dog and her medication.
Nothing but praise for Dr. Wasserman, Dr. Phillips, and their professional staff.

Provided by YP.comThank GOD for this Emergency Center! My puppy ate a whole bag of hersheys kisses and I was so scared she was going to die! I called them and they told me to bring Miss Jade in immediately. As soon as I walked in the door they took her and started treatment, even thought there were other emergencies already there waiting! They were able to get all the toxic chocolate out of her belly and treated her carefully over night. Now she is back to her crazy self and so we just need to keep chocolate OUT OF THE HOUSE! Thanks to the doctor and nurses that took such great care of my baby!

Provided by YP.comI moved to Florida from Indiana in June. I have not found a vet yet, and was completely distraught when my cat stopped eating and could barely keep his eyes open on Thanksgiving morning. Everywhere else seemed closed so I was thrilled they could see us immediately.
It turns out he ate almost a whole spool's worth of thread and it was wrapped around his stomach and lodged in his small intestine. They explained their plan and the methods they would take to remove the string while remaining understanding, professional, and incredibly caring.
It ended up being less than then the deposit I made so they refunded me my money back. They took amazing care of him both in surgery and over night. I'm so grateful they were there for him.

Provided by YP.comWe've been going to Animal Emergency and Referral Center since we brought our Golden home in 2010. He's had numerous issues; digestive, allergies, and eating things he shouldn't (washcloth, mushrooms). We've seen all the emergency vets, internal medicine vet, surgeon, and they've all been super. They and the staff obviously care a great deal about their patients and treat with out going overboard or recommending unnecessary procedures or meds. I'd highly recommend this practice.

Provided by YP.comThis is going to be my home away from if I keep this up....I ended up here again last night....Our cat started having trouble breathing, so we headed over to Animal Emergency Center to have her checked out. It turned out that she had severe pneumonia. The vet was really nice, explaining everything thoroughly. The vet techs were also really nice. They gave us digital x-rays to take to our regular vet, as well as copies for us to keep. They gave her a breathing treatment and antibiotics and she seems to be feeling better already. Really love this place but I hope I don't have to go back anytime soon = )

Provided by YP.comHad to take my dog Sophie there when she came up limping to get food after dashing down the stairs too quickly. So as a worried doggie-dad I decided to take her to the Banfield Hospital I normally use, but they were too busy so I brought her here. I am so glad I did.
Great people, Great Service, very thorough in examination and even provided me xrays on CD so that I could look at them, or give them to Banfield next time I am there.
I would recommend these guys in a heartbeat. They're very fast and your dog will be very happy as will you with their services.
