Provided by YP.comHad a great stay over Memorial Day weekend! Enjoyed the pool and being so close to the beach. The room was very clean and the bed was comfy! Loved the view and being so close to everything! If you want something clean, comfortable, and great for kids at a great price, this is the place! We would definitely stay here again!

Provided by YP.comSince I live in Houston and frequent the island for stays, I have to say The Commodore is by far one of my favorite places to stay.
This place has great charm and reminds me of vacations with the fam in the 80's. First thing I love is that every room has a good beach view and a balcony, and we like the first floor rooms specifically because the back door opens up to the pool area which is really convenient. The pool location is great, you can look at the beach view as you swim, which is not possible at most places in galveston. It's a great family friendly place.
Next thing I love about the The Commodore is that fact that it is CLEAN. It's not the fanciest, but Its always clean. The cleaning staff looks a it rough but they get the job done, s o they are okay by me. Room 109 is next to the gate and every time that bad boy closed it was loud. Room 101 which we stayed in most recently was right next to the office, and it was actually really quiet.
We have already booked our next weekend excursion here.

Provided by YP.comThis hotel is fine. We arrived at 3:30 pm. Checked in with No problem. The guy at the front desk was very polite. Told us what time breakfast was and what was served. Breakfast consists of Cereal, Instant Oatmeal, and Muffins to eat....Nothing more...but they tell you that when you check in. There is coffee and Tea all day (Which is nice) The room, bathroom, and beds are all clean. Rooms are small but this is an older hotel. The beds are comfortable. The pool is nice, while we were there guests had staff deliver towels to the pool for them. The view is great and it is within walking distance to many things including beach, restaurant, and bar.

Provided by YP.comShowed up to the hotel and the staff was very courteous and made it a smooth process getting checked in. Got to the room to a cozy room with brick walls and a great view of the beach. Bagged chocolate cookies with milk/coffee for the afternoon were provided. Also, a limited continental breakfast; muffins, oatmeal, coffee/milk/juices. Couldn't beat the price for the location!

Provided by YP.comThis is the perfect hotel. Has cheap rooms and comfy beds! Beach access is across the street and restaurants within walking distance. Walk down to The Brick have a few cocktails walk back to your room. :) I've been to Galveston a 100 times and I prefer The Commodore over any other! Plus my Kids can swim in the pool while we watch them from the balcony.

Provided by YP.comWent there for spring break, and the hotel was awesome. Every room has a view of the Gulf of Mexico. We are from Houston and came down for 1 night to enjoy the beach. This hotel is a bit older but the rooms were decorated nicely with a seaside cottage theme. The walls are brick, bringing safety and also peace and quiet. They serve cookies and milk in the evening and a free continental breakfast in the morning with the usual fare. The pool is large, has a great waterfall feature and it also faces the gulf. The bathroom was spacious and plenty of towels and soap/shampoo amenties. We found the free wifi an asset as both my teenage daughters sent pics/texts to their friends. The front desk was very nice and efficient also. The beds were comfy, and we loved being on the ground floor so we could just walk out to the pool. We will stay there again.

Provided by YP.comArrived earlier than check in time. Reservation was found easily, nice staff, check in smooth. Parking in back of hotel where you enter to get inside your room. All rooms have a beautiful ocean front view with private balconies. The hotel is old and a lot of people talk about it being outdated , but I like the vintage style. Very immaculate room. Large sized room as well. Beautiful crystal pool, comes with continental breakfast. Your parking is free at the hotel so no need to pay to park. Right across from the beach. With walking distance of tons of stuff including Pleasure Pier. Great value in the off seasons. Weekends slightly higher. Check out is noon and I like that. There is no smoking in any rooms nor are pets allowed. The elevator works good too. Made for a great family get away. Will stay again!!

Provided by YP.comMy family of 11 just left here and we all loved our rooms. 8 of us stayed in the family room and it was perfect for our needs. It was spacious, clean, and had a fridge in the room. The kids had a blast being able to stay in the same room. Meanwhile, the other 3 adults were able to stay in a room overlooking the pool and seawall. The staff was friendly and the price was good. Great experience.

Provided by YP.comThe Hotel is in a great location.... right on the beach and near other restaurants etc... It is sort of a no frills motel type of property. Provided by YP.comWe will be staying again. This was a nice clean hotel with an awesome view of the beach and a little stretch of the legs to Bubba Gump's on Pleasure Pier. We stayed for 2 nights before boarding the Carnival Triumph and I really couldn't have asked for a better hotel.
