Provided by YP.comDespite being bombarded with dozens of extra calls for a.c. repair on a Sunday, Abacus was still able to come through for us in a timely manner. The tech. they sent struck the perfect balance between professional and personable. He went well out of his way to track down the part we needed, and had our house cooling down within an hour.

Provided by YP.comThey found the leak, repaired the pipe and then made sure that took care of the problem. I also had another problem with a slow leak in the wall which they recommended using a leak detection service and then they could repair it.

Provided by YP.comShowed up same day. Made an appointment with another company 4 days ago and they called to reschedule it 3 days from now. Impressed Abacus was able to come on a Friday evening and quickly resolve the drain: garbage disposal issue. I'm calling Abacus every time for here on out.

Provided by YP.comThe plumber understood right away what the problem was with our sprinkler system. He had to do some above-ground re-piping, after explaining that to me, and he insulated the new pipes. Then he replaced the old on/off valve, which had failed, with a different kind of valve that is much easier to use. Now I don't need to use a tool to turn the sprinklers on and off! He is a very competent, courteous young man.

Provided by YP.comI am very pleased with the service the technician gave me. He really knows what he is doing. He found my leak at the meter and fixed it. The grass he dug up was placed back and I could not even tell. I am also pleased with my tankless water heater service. I was not aware my copper pipes were corroding in my attic until he showed me possible trouble and explained why they should be replaced. I agreed and am glad I won't have to worry about them springing a leak and it going undetected because I don't go up there. I will call your company and ask for him if I ever have any plumbing issues.

Provided by YP.comMy call was answered Christmas evening which allowed for a service call the next day. The leak in the attic was repaired and a new water tank installed on the same day. I was able to have water to the house back on and that was great since we had out of town guests visiting. Thank you very much!

Provided by YP.comThe appointment was scheduled and I was excited about getting the work done when it was convenient for me, which meant I would not have to miss work. I received a phone call from the technician Friday, to finalize the plans for the repair work to begin Monday 8 am - 11 am. I got up early Monday to make sure I would not miss their call informing me they were en route. 11 am came and went. I immediately called Abacus to find out what happened. After being placed on hold for a couple minutes, I was told that I was scheduled in the 3 pm to 6 pm block. I let her know that I know for a fact I was scheduled for 8am - 11am because it was verified with the technician Friday. She said I would receive a call from the supervisor shortly with an update on the arrival time. The next call I received from Abacus was TWO DAYS LATER. This time I was being told that the technicians were on the way! There was no apology for missing the scheduled appointment! No explanation as to why it was missed! Just the technicians are on the way. Of course for the amount of money I was about to pay, I was not happy with this service and how the situation was handled. I let her know that my appointment was scheduled for 8am Monday and arrangements had been made to be home for the service, it is now Wednesday! Her responses was "But the trucks are already loaded". This really pissed me off. What does that have to do with me? Why weren't the trucks loaded Monday when the repair was scheduled? Why are they not explaining why they missed a repair that was scheduled over a week in advance? Why should I allow them to do the repair just because it is convenient for them, TODAY, and the trucks are loaded? I am glad that no funds were lost but hate that I had this horrible experience with Abacus, who is supposed to be one of the top rated plumbers in Houston. This make me very apprehensive on trusting ANYONE. Good thing this was not an emergency job because I would have been screwed dealing with Abacus.

Answered all of our questions and showed us what we could do ourselves to maintain and prolong the life of our HVAC system. Even replaced the battery in the smoke detector while working in the attic. We have used them many times for at least 10 years for all of our plumbing and HVAC needs, and will certainly call them again.

Provided by YP.comI had a problem with a ceiling fan. The chain broke off inside the fan while turning it on. I thought i would have to buy another fan and have it installed. The electrician suggested installing a remote control on the fan which would correct the problem and there would be no more concern about breaking the chain. The remote control works well and I am happy that i did not have to buy another fan. Abacus has provided excellent services every time I have called for electrical or plumbing issue.

Provided by YP.comAbacus was the only plumber that would come out at 1:00 AM. Our hot water heater in the attic was leaking and the over flow pan was over flowing. Water was falling from the ceiling on the first floor and saturated everything. We shut off the water and Abacus was here in about 20 minutes. Sebastian made sure everything was turn off and returned the next morning and installed a new water heater. Sebastian was very polite and professional and did a remarkable job and did not leave any mess. I would recommend Abacus.

Provided by YP.comJohn and the whole team worked hard to replace our broken HVAC system. They literally had it completely removed and new system installed the same day! A couple of small Hic-ups following install were addressed by one of their top techs. He did a great job with correcting the immediate concerns. John came back out to assess the work and balanced the system so my whole house feels equally comfortable. The new AC system not only cools the air more efficiently (16 SEER versus the old 12 SEER) but also removes more humidity in the air so the house is actually more comfortable at slightly higher temps than we previously had set them. This saves on our electric bill. A win all the way around. The 10 year Parts and Labor warranty is peace of mind and icing on the cake. With the new Lennox system installed, we're way cooler than we used to be (Pun intended).

Provided by YP.comGregg was very professional and explained the procedure involved in installing the water heater.It was late in the day and Gregg had to request a smaller tank be delivered due to width of attic entrance. He made sure we had a water heater installed the same day when he could had easily left it for another day.

Provided by YP.comTheir technician arrived at the agreed time and was courteous and professional. The diagnosis was that the entire a/c system needed replacing at great expense. I arranged for a second engineer to have a look and he found that a loose wire was causing the problem. It was repaired, no replacement parts required, and all I paid for was the call-out fee. Lesson learned; always get a second opinion.
