After talking to 6 contractors, we chose M&K because of their price, professionalism and customer service and no high pressure sales. They did an excellent job and treated us like family.

Provided by YP.comDisclaimer: I have not had them do any work for me. I called to ask about getting a rooftop unit replaced. They would not quote me a general price over the phone (i.e. a 3 ton unit plus labor should be about $$$ it may be more if a,b,c,d).
I spoke with Linda, who became very annoyed that I expected them to come out to give me a free quote on replacing my old unit. She wanted $75 for the privilege of telling me how much a new unit install would cost. I called M&K based on the reviews on this site, but my experience does not match the reviews.
As comparison, another company, came out inspected the unit, told me what is wrong with it, how much it would cost to fix (most of the cost was labor), how much to replace. They even provided me with the model number of the proposed unit.

Provided by YP.comFinally a person I can trust in Vegas for my air and heat! After having several techs come out from other places that didn't seem like they knew what they were doing, or cared to fix my problem, and some wanting to sell me things I didn't need. I had a problem with my ac and then my heat just went out. My problem was diagnosed quickly, with Joe and now I have my full system working once again. Thank you Linda for sending Joe out to help me and now my problem is solved. I will definately recommend you to all I know. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you!

Provided by YP.comFinally-- a local company we can trust!! Called M&K yesterday to check on my AC outside unit (compressor) cause 1 of the unit's fan was not spinning. Linda who answered the call was extremely helpful--gave me an honest quote and a sort of diagnostics over the phone. Company sent George wh worked on the outside unit under the heat of the sun. Very prompt, knowledgeable, professional. Note that 1 of the AC units inside the house was just repaired (motor and blade) by a friend and we were still cheking the integrity of the unit. Want to mention that the day before, I called One Hour Air Conditioning who charged me $99 for a guy to tell me I need to replace the furnace!! Guess what, we fixed the furnace with $200. So I wanted the compressors to be working as well and was worried the outside units (compressors) were not working right. M&K/George checked the unit, changed the compresitor? cause it was weak and charged me less than what i thought it would be!! And he even took time to check the inside and outside units--the temperature, gauges, etc. He even explained what to do while waiting for the motor to be replaced. Alright--as soon as he left the other unit which was working just fine stopped working-- I thought maybe he tripped on some electrical stuff. Spent the whole nite worrying--did I make him work on the unit that was working?? So I called M&K and left a message. A Mike called me back and he listened to my concerns and confusions about the units and offered to send George back to check. Decided that I'll wait until the furnace and motor gets fixed. Got that done today-- both ACs are working!! The unit outside that stopped working--it;s spinning now. The one that George worked on I havent seen it spin but with the great ustomer service I got and the honesty with pricing, etc, I am comfortable to call M&K for another service check just to make sure. I have a 15 year old house---with the way things are-- I am just glad I dont have to replace the furnaces yet--like what I told the One Hour guy--look I have home warranty insurance and am not looking to buying a new one!! I guess this is the first thing you hear from other companies. With M&K-- they dont try to sell you stuff!! You call for repair and you get the service!! I can truly say I am very satisfied with M&K-- will use them again, and I am just glad there is a local company that can be trusted. BTW-- I usually dont have time to even write reviews but I think when a good service is done--it has to be recommended. Thanks M&K.

I owned a business in the past that operated alot of refridgeration equipment and a large AC unit and let me tell you i have become very equipt to tell you if i have been taken or not. And i can say that this company just might be the most honest AC company i have ever dealt with. Told me straight up what the problem was and that it was nothing major. He had the part in his truck. Took no time at all. He checked the system and the 2nd unit to see if there might be any forseable repairs. Said pressure looked good and recharged the system. Thought the bill would of been lots of $$$$$$. Not at all! I would reccommend to everyone! Thanks again M & K.

Provided by YP.comAfter ARS screwed up two appointments, I decided to do some research on which AC company to deal with. M and K by far had by far, the best customer ratings!
Arrived early which I though was a major plus! Couldn't understand most of what he said, but that didn't truly bother me. Then he didn't know how to remove the largest ladder from his truck, even after trying to help him for about 15 minutes.
First and second impressions were not good.
After calling M and K about my concerns, I was told he was new to the company but had a ton of experience!
Finally, he removed the ladder from the truck! I had to help him move the ladder from the truck to the side of my house, which I didn't mind doing! I also had to help him position the ladder to where it didn't hit one of my windows.
Once the ladder was in place, he proceeded to climb the ladder and stayed up on my roof for about 30 to 45 minutes. I told him that my AC fan blades were making some noise, which he corrected. He told me that the fan blades were hitting the grate, which he spent time to correct the problem.
Not once, besides fixing the fan blades hitting the grate, did he tell me what he did to make my AC more efficient! While writing my bill, he asked me if my filters were clean?
The only time he came into my house was when the AC didn't turn on right away when he first arrived!
While other AC companies were only charging $59 for the summer check up, I decided to go with M and K with their $107.50 minus the $25 coupon because of everything I read from other past customers ratings!
All I want is to make my 15 year old AC to work at it's best to save me some money!
On April 25, 2011, I received a full refund in the mail with a apology for sending out a new tech on his first day on the job!
To me, this showed a lot of class for a business to admit they did something wrong!!!
If I had a choice, I would have wanted them to send out another more experienced tech to thoroughly check out my 15 year old AC unit instead! After reading all the rave reviews on yp.com about M and K, my ultimate goal was to find a reputable and reliable AC repair company to sign a service contract and possibly buy a new a more efficient AC unit in the near future!
Raised my star rating from two to three stars.

Provided by YP.comGot home late last night to find we had no a/c! Had no idea where to turn. Checked out YP.com and saw the outstanding reviews for M & K and decided to give them a shot. Left a message at like 1am and our phone was ringing at 7am this morning with M & K ready to send out a technician! He was here shortly after 9am and we had a/c before 10am and I didn't have to mortgage the house to pay for it! The tech (introduced as Frank but his shirt said Kiko) was polite and honest. As we know nothing about a/c he basically could have told us anything and charged us anything. But he diagnosed a leak and fixed it immediately. Thank you M & K for honesty and promptness! We were so happy with the service that we are now considering a service contract with M & K to cover any future problems with our nearly 30 year-old system!

Each and everytime the tech was on time, professional and educated as to how to best solve my A/C problems. I found them to be priced very well and not interested in upselling me on un-necessary repairs. They fix was is broken and do not fix that are not required. I will continue to utilize the expertise of M & K Heating and Cooling for as long as they care to work with my team and I. Thank you M & K for many jobs well done!

Provided by YP.comCalled M&K to set up an appt., they told me that someone will call me back for date and time for the repair technician to come over. On the day of the scheduled date they called me @ 7 a.m. to tell me that the technician will be there around 8.a.m. till 12 noon. Frankie the technician came in and diagnosed the problem on my outdoor a/c unit, he said that my fan might be going out soon, that it might be the cause of why it's tripping the breakers and it will costs me $484 to replace it. He restarted everything back on and told me to keep the thermostat on 80 degrees Fahrenheit for now, just to keep it going till the fan goes out, not to mention to cool the house a little.. He also checked my refrigerant and he said that it's pretty good but what he forgot to tell me, is that he didn't fully close the valve when he pulled out his instrument to measure the refrigerant pressure, so it was leaking a little bit, I don't know if he did that on purpose or not. I know this because another a/c technician( i wanted a second opinion) told me the next day while i was watching him check my a/c/ unit. The other technician from a diff. company told me that there is nothing wrong with my a/c/ that day. Fan was working great no need to replace anything at the moment. I use the yellow pages hoping to find a reliable and dependable a/c company and technician and he misdiagnosed my a/c unit. I don't know if I can trust M& K anymore, that would be the last time I will call them for any repairs or diagnosis of my a/c. Thanks yellow pages for almost getting me scammed by your recommendation.
Let me see if I get this straight. The customer calls in about a circuit breaker on his unit " tripping". Our tech goes out to diagnose the problem. After finding that the only thing he can see causing the problem is an outdoor motor that is showing signs of age and slight bearing wear that "MIGHT" be starting to fail. He then quotes a price for a motor replacement "IF" the customer decides to make the repair. At no time did he try to "UPSELL" or mislead the customer in any way. As far as "CLOSING" any refrigerant valves when he removed his hoses, there are no valves on this unit to close. A little refrigerant leakage is normal when a set of hoses are removed from the equipment, even with the "LOW LOSS" hose fitting that we use. Nothing was done on purpose to leak refrigerant. Another tech told the customer that nothing was wrong with his unit "THAT DAY". A very good possibility since a fan motor does not often fail suddenly but will take a long period of time to wear to the point that it fails. Again, the customer was told that the motor "MIGHT" be going bad. As far as the tech's experience level is concerned, he was trained in the military HVAC maintenance schools and has a full enlistment of experience plus about 4 years of civilian experience for a total of 7-8 years. In fact, the review posted by kgreen1 on 6/7/10 was about this same technician. Then, the customer disparages Yellowpages.com for almost getting him "SCAMMED". YP.com doesn't write these reviews. Many customers have written unsolicited reviews in this posting. If this customer had contacted us and expressed his dissatisfaction with the way the call was handled, we would have gladly refunded the cost of the service call.

Provided by YP.comI called him out and he made it in a couple of hours. Checked the system and told me he couldn't find a problem. He said that he would come back and check it again, if I had the problem again, and he would not charge me another service fee.
He said to leave everything as it was when having the problem. He needed to check it that way to determine the problem.
I haven't had the problem again. I felt that he was what I wanted in a repairman. He didn't try to get extra work by telling me I needed somrthing I didn't need.
I will and have recommended him to my friends and family. It is hard to find honest repairmen.

The technician that came to today not only listen to me as I explained the problem but after the repair was finished gave me some hints on how to keep the house cooler. In addition he climbed up into the attic without pause (it's like 110 outside) and then checked my outputs 4 times to make sure that the air was coming out correctly. Finally the price was right and I totally agreed that my money was well spent, he didn't even try to sell me anything!!!!!! I am highly recommending them to anyone.

Mike showed me the worn out parts from our AC unit and explained everything he needed to do. Everthing was back to working order in no time at all. "Very impressed" doesn't even begin to describe our feelings. Professional, Excellent Service, Prompt & Punctual, Very Courteous, Polite, and above all Knowledgable. We've used M&K twice now. Trust Us, if you're in need of heating or cooling system repair you CALL M&K! You will not be sorry!!!

Provided by YP.comI called these guy same day and they came out less than an hour to fix my A/C, the technician was very curteous, polite, and knowledgable. I told him the problem and he started trouble shooting and my A/C was fixed in less than an hour, with that said I would definetly recommend this company to any one that has A/C or Heating issues, they did a great job, and their punctuality was stellar!

Provided by YP.comI didn't think there were any honest repairmen left, wrong. They were prompt, articulate and thorough. In 19 years of living in Las Vegas this was the first experience with a repairman that didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth. I wwould absolutely recommend M&K to anyone.

Provided by YP.comWe noticed that our heater wasn't working and did an online search to find a repair person. Mike and M&K had the best (and the most, by far) reviews, so we gave him a call on a Tuesday afternoon. He was more than willing to do a same day service call, but he had appointments scheduled all over the city that day, so we scheduled an appointment for 11am on Wednesday. Not only was he 20+ minutes early (which seems rare these days), he was just the nicest man in the world! He quickly diagnosed our problem as a burned out heating element and he had a replacement part in his truck. He was done fixing our heater in under 30 minutes, which was great. Mike also took the time to teach my husband about the air purifier that the previous owners had installed in our attic and he made it work for probably the first time ever.
If you need someone to repair your heating or cooling system, CALL M&K! You will not be sorry!!!
