TAKING ADVANTAGE OF TENANTS

READ: Hometown Property takes advantage of tenants, whenever and however possible. When a company takes advantage of the tenants, and thinks its alright business practice, this is just plain WRONG and UNETHICAL!!! Why HOMETOWN PROPERTY would take advantage of tenants who are paying their rents on time, I cannot put a grasp on this one. I do know that I will be contacting the HOUSING AUTHORITY and the BBB. SAVE YOURSELF FROM TROUBLE, and DO NOT RENT FROM Hometown Property.

HORRIBLE

Do not rent from them!!!!!! The house was dirty and needed repairs when we moved in. They were supposed to clean and fix it before we moved in. Ya, that never happened. I've been in this stupid house for 2 years and they still haven't done anything! They never return calls, and when you do get through to someone they are very rude. The repair men they do send dont know what they are doing. I had a guy come out to look at the water heater and he kept asking me about how it worked! I don't fricking know, thats why I had a maintence guy come over! Save your self the trouble and don't bother with this company!

Very professional

I have been working with Hometown for 5 years.Their is no one more knowledge or professional than these guys. They are extremely wired in to the market and the military. The only people who are disatisfied with this company are tenants who try to cheat the system. that is why some of the reviews have lower ratings. Don't be fooled, go with the people who get the job done and do the right thing.

Ridiculous Move Out Charges

As a Captain in the Army I was stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA and lived in Olympia, WA. I rented a house from Hometown Property Management at 1805 Lenox Ct. NW for 1 year. When I moved in the property was in need of some minor repairs and the lawn was in poor condition (noted on my move-in inspection). After I moved in the property owner had a guy come work on the yard who did about half the job and never came back. Maintenance on the property was done in a cut-rate manner by a cut-rate maintenance guy not employed by the property manage because the owner was too cheap. While there I made several improvements to the property both inside and outside and put a lot of effort into the property at move out. Honestly feel that I left the place better than I found it in all respects except for 8 screw holes in a wall where I had hung some shelving. I was charged $320 for 8 screw holes and $380 for "lawn work." I was charged these fees after I had already left the state. Beware.

DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!

Being a tenant in one of their rentals was a horrible experience. When I moved out I hire professionals to clean it up. They still found another $2,000 in stuff they say I owe them. When I refused to pay they turned it over to collections. This is the worst experience of my life.

Terrible company

I have had experience with this company and most of it was truly terrible. They do not understand customer service at all. They don't answer calls, they're rude (not the receptionist) and not very truthful. They have only one goal - spend as little as possible and ignore problems as long as possible. The sleaze factor is very high.

Excellent Company for both Owners and Renters

I have been a tenant with Hometown for over 3 years and they have been nothing but excellent. Whenever I have repairs that are needed or issues to resolve, they work quickly and effeciently. Even when a repair was done incorrectly, they turned around and made a correction happen fast. I am impressed by both the maintenance staff AND the office personnel. If I ever have the opportunity to purchase a house for renting out to other, I will use hometown Property to take care of my investment. After seeing them take care of the house I live in, I want the same excellent service and care my house gets now. Both Andrew and Dani continuously strive to be the best in the business through great customer service AND awesome owner services. From what I have experienced and seen, those nay-sayers are most likely people who have damaged homes and Hometown is just holding them responsible!! Keep up the GREAT WORK!! Thanks especially to MY landlord...she is the best.

Overall good experience

I have been a tenant for a year now and have had an overall good experience. We have had one major problem and two minor ones (house is 17 years old, bound to happen) and the response from HPM and their crew was always fast. Our property manager came out to inspect the work that was done and all went well. Our house and yard were clean when we moved in. I haven't received a response on a few e-mails, but none of them were about repairs or crucial matters. I have received return phone calls whenever I have called. I live near the office so I have paid my rent there a few times (front desk staff is very nice) but I mostly pay my rent online through their website which is super convenient for me, I pay almost all of my bills online and don't ever seem to have a stamp. As a military family, we had to do the selection process from Ft Bragg, so it was great to have so many pictures and details online. My experience has been great...

I have been very satisfied with Hometown. They have been quick to return both calls and emails regarding new tenants and any issues. They have dealt with problems within the property quickly. I have dealt mostly with Kim (some interaction with Julie) and have been treated very well and have had my communications returned quickly (within a day). I can definitely empathize with some of the comments on having a bad property management team, as I have had to deal with a few in the past, but every encounter I have had with Hometown to this point has been excellent.
