I had a lot of trouble and wasted a lot of money trying to find a place that actually knew what they were doing when it comes to Caucasian locs. Others claimed to have experience and great techniques, but I was always disappointed, and the costs were never clear up front. As soon as I walked in the door the first time at Da Notty Roots Denise had my confidence. She and her staff create a great fun atmosphere, they call me by name and treat me like I've been a friend for years, and I always know exactly what I'm going to get and how much it will cost. If you want locs - Caucasian or otherwise - in the Hampton Roads area, Da Notty Roots is the place to go.

I took my kids here to get there locs tighten up, and I was not disappointed. The Denise and her staff was very good and hospitable. Miranda did my kids hair and they both loved it; they left talking about how good it smelled as well as how it looked. Also, they are very fast at what they do, you are in and out in no time.



I loved the decor, I have never seen a beauty salon so nice and contemporary. I was taking notes myself.



I believe Da Notty Roots will be around for a long time to come.

From the first time you walk in and the entire time you are in this salon you are aware that the salon prides itself on professionlism. The owner Denise takes the time to educate you on the process of what is occurring to those who are new to the natural journey process. The salon is VERY clean and the experience is relaxing and upscale. The owner uses her own natural products which you can purchase to use at home. She is comfortable sharing with u how to use the products, while some stylist dont want you to see what they are using and advise aganist you trying things at home, this is not the case with Denise.

Checking in for my appointment was friendly and quick, the hair washing portion with a authentic shampoo created by Denise the owner was minty.
