WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE
FLOWERS ARE NOT DELIVERED

Provided by YP.comWhatever you do, do not use these criminals! I ordered flowers for mother's day to be delivered on Saturday before so my wheelchair bound mom could enjoy them longer. Not only did they not make it there on Saturday, they didn't make it on Sunday. They were stored on a hot truck for FOUR DAYS and were finally delivered on Tuesday. They were half dead and I paid extra for that? The delivery fees were quite a lot more than others but they assured me they would be there on Saturday. When I called each day, I was told they were out for delivery. They would not make it right and they told me that their website has some small print that tells me they do not guarantee delivery by any certain date. Really? I'm so disgusted I could just spit! I will never use this company for anything and if you want good customer service I suggest you do not either.

Provided by YP.comMy mother placed an order with AVAS on a Friday at 9:30 AM for my birthday. She was assured multiple times that the flowers would be delivered to my office before 4:00 PM. According to the website as long as orders are placed before 2:00 PM they can be delivered that day. I let my mother know around 4:00 PM that I was leaving the office and nothing was delivered. SHE was for some reason apologetic to me, which is the last thing I wanted. She called AVAS back and the representative she spoke with kept saying, "No worries!" After my mother spent $60 on flowers that did not get delivered when they were supposed to, why should she have "no worries"? That is among one of the weirdest customer complaint responses I have ever heard. "The service you promised in exchange for my money was not delivered" ... "No worries!"
The flowers finally came Monday, three full days after my birthday and the day they were supposed to arrive. On top of that my name was completely butchered on the flowers. Because it is my mother, I am not up in arms over this, but what if it was for business purposes? Or for a funeral? If they are unsure of a name they should clarify it before embarrassing their customers with misspellings. My mother called AVAS that Tuesday to express her dissatisfaction. The phone agent was completely unhelpful, unapologetic, and unsympathetic towards their company's mistake. They refused to refund my mother's money and only offered to send more flowers. She said that she did not want the flowers, but when that was the bottom line offer she said fine, why not. Again, my mother was apologetic to me because of something that was out of her control. I took that as my turn to speak up. When someone chooses to make a nice gesture such as sending someone flowers, the last thing they should feel is bad because the company was unable to follow through.
I sent an email to the customer service address listed on their website as well as filed a complaint via Twitter. I was contacted by the social media manager, who was about as helpful as the rest of the company. He kept explaining the policy, which could be summed up in two words: no refunds. He then went on to say he could not issue a refund because my mother agreed with their compromise of sending more flowers and was happy with that deal. I explained she did that because that was the only thing offered to her. He then contradicted himself saying they do not offer refunds, regardless of the time of delivery. Why would you even ask customers when they need flowers delivered by if the time of delivery is a moot point in the transaction? He then went into saying it is not fair for me to receive the flowers I originally was sent, apology flowers, AND a refund, as if that was my goal this whole time. I tried to explain the apparently difficult concept of customer service - you promise your customer a good that is supposed to be delivered by x date, but isn't, therefore you should refund the money the consumer spent. He then said that he could no longer talk to me because I was not the card holder.
I spoke with the local florist who AVAS used prior to speaking with AVAS. They told me that they did not even receive an order for flowers until Saturday, over a full 24 hours after the order was placed. While talking on the phone with the social media manager he said that was impossible and that it was placed Friday. I once again spoke with the local florist who faxed me the order, which was sent to them on Saturday at 2:51 PM. If flowers are ordered for same day delivery on Friday at 9:30 AM, why would that order not even be sent to a local florist until Saturday at 2:51 PM?
AVAS is a waste of your time, energy, and money. Something as easy as ordering flowers for someone on their birthday turned into an unsuccessful pain in the you know what.

Provided by YP.comDO NOT USE!! Scam Artists and poor quality! Calimed to be local to New orleans! NOT - (My fault for not researching /reading more reviews! So many bad ones!!!)
I ordered flowers for Mother's day online at the Avas website and paid almost 40 dollars in shipping and "handling" fees to ensure the flowers were delivered on the Saturday before mother’s day as Avas did not provide the option to deliver on Sunday. I had selected them to try to support a local florist, as they claimed to be. While online I double checked my order, the delivery dates and submitted it. I instantly received my confirmation email saw that they had a disclaimer that the flowers would be delivered either Monday or Tuesday. I immediately called the customer service number and explained that I had just paid for Saturday delivery, but in my confirmation the days were changed. I asked to have my order cancelled as I wasn’t going to pay for Saturday delivery and have my mom receive the flowers after Mother’s day. When he tried to talk me out of it, I explained that I didn’t want to do business with a company that would pull such a switch. He apologized, said it wouldn’t be a problem and transferred me to billing. I waited on hold for about 3 minutes before someone answered and promptly hung up on me before I could say a word. I called immediately back, re-told my story and that I had been hung up on only to be told: We are sorry; we just processed your order and will not refund or cancel it. I asked to speak to supervisors, managers, the owner… and was told they were all in meetings and unavailable. He said he didn’t know how to change the order, couldn’t process a cancelation without a manager and that it was against company policy to allow me to cancel it. He reassured me several times that the flowers would, in fact be delivered on Saturday as I paid for…even acknowledging that I paid the extra money for the service. After 10 minutes of arguing with him and begging to speak to anyone else…I hung up. I called about an hour later and got the same story, no one could help, no manager or lead was available, Avas refused to cancel the order. I disputed the charge immediately with my credit card company...and they took care of it for me (as I indicated I would with the sales person…whose response was, if you wish to be unethical, I can’t stop you.). The flowers were delivered… on Monday around 6 PM while my mother was away (she was going to refuse the delivery)...in a beat up and smudged box. The flowers were wilted and there were fewer flowers than I had paid for. So not only did they rip me off on the delivery, refuse to provide and customer service, argue with me and refused to cancel the order, they ripped off my mother too. Also, they claim to be a “local” florist – but all of my calls were answered by a call center and each person had an Indian accent. Nice. Luckily, another florist delivered to my mom on Sunday and she loved those flowers.

Provided by YP.comIf I could not give them a star I would. Scenario: Ordered Flowers at 11AM for Same Day Delivery by 4PM. No delivery, I call and the guy says the will be redelivered next morning with an upgrade. Great sounds good except on the next day THAT AFTERNOON, when the flowers finally arrive, they were dead. Not exactly what I asked nor paid for. I write an email saying I want a refund because she will be on her way home by the time they can redeliver to her where she is. They absolutely refused to give a refund, kept trying to push store credit that I would never use because I can get fresh local flowers here, it was a long distance gift. But apparently I did not understand the process because the made an attempt at delivery they can't give a refund. Well, I don't remember ordering dead flowers so that is "paid for service that was not provided. Apparently they don't get it and said I can dispute it with my Credit Card Company since they made a delivery attempt. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE, I would rather use another commercial flower company than these people ever again. Oh, and yes I will be disputing it with the credit card company. I gave the Customer Service person a chance to keep my business, they refused. This is the result.

Provided by YP.comI ordered some flowers to be delivered to my nieces school for her 18th birthday (mind you she only turns 18 once). I found this cake made out of flowers (thought it was different and didn't want to send regualr flowers). paid $60.00. My niece took a picture of te flower "arrangment" she recieved and it looked NOTHING like a cake. it was a small arrangment of cheap looking flowers. called 877-638-3303 and talked with Roy - ex 1022, who told me there was nothing he can do. so I had there "manager" call me back (Neil). at first he said he'll give me back 50% of my money back....I wasn't satisfied, but after arguing with him over the phone for a 1/2 hour I finally said ok I'll take the 50% BUt you will NEVER have my buisness EVER again....then he said, "ok but in order to give you back 50% we will have to retrieve the flowers back".....I was apaulled! so your going to go to the high school and go take the flowers out of my nieces hands on her birthday (so she gets nothing) and STILL charge me 50% for your f*ck up? I told him he should take the $60 hit on a bad buisness descision. If the flower company couldn't make what I ordered (and paid for) then CALL me and tel me that, do0n't just throw a flower arrangment together ASSUMING i'd be ok with this!!! I would've cancelled the order and did something else. AGAIN I DID NOT WANT REGUALR FLOWERS. I would've sent chocolate or a singing dinosaur! so after arguing over the phone for awhile he said to me that he'll send my mother 2 dozen roses on mothers day to make it up....does that make sense to you reading this? so you'll send $200 worth of flowers for FREE instead of taking the $60 hit???? these people are scam artists and they should be punished/shut down. Let's just see if my mother gets roses or weeds!!! AND I ONLY GAVE IT ONE STAR BECAUSE I HAD TOO

Provided by YPmobileMy husband ordered me flowers to be delivered on Valentines day. He ordered a bouquet of peonies and I recieved 6 daisies that coyld have been purchased from walmart for under 10 dollars. My husband paid just over $100. When he tried to contact Ava's he was disconnected a total of 5 times before being told they dont do refunds and then we were promised the correct flowers would be delivered 4 days later. After almost 4 weeks, 4 disconnected phone calls to Ava's and 2 un replied to emails I finally got ahold of someone who was willing to offer me 2 dozen roses as a replacement. I too was given the run around when asked to speak to management. I ha e been promised a phone call back from someone but after reading the other reviews I too went to the cc company and filed a dispute! I will never use them again and will definitely be spreading the word about this terrible company!

Provided by YP.comZERO STARS!!!! Do NOT order from them!! My husband purchased the "Stunning Red Rose and Lily Bouquet" with 6 Calla Lilies and 12 Roses on 2/12/2013 to be delivered to me at my work on 2/14/13. I received the bouquet and there were only 3 Hybrid Lilies and 6 Roses (half of what was ordered) and both sets of Flowers were brown and wilted and the petals and leaves were falling off. I contacted Customer Service on 2/14/13 at 12:19 pm and was told a Manager would contact me before the end of the day. When a Manager never contacted me, I called Customer Service again on 2/15/13 at 2:48 p.m. Again I was told that a Manager would contact me. It is now 2/19/13 and I still have not been contacted. I have now sent a message on their website and at their customer support email address. Still nothing...

Provided by YPmobileAfter dealing with a guy who offered all the additions in the world for a price, any making guilt type comments when I said no, he entered the wrong delivery date even though he charged me extra to deliver next day, according to my receipt. All attempts to change the date failed. You are routed to a call center with people who have no power or authority to do anything. Tried to cancel the order as they made the delivery date a week late. They refused. Had to dispute charge with credit card company to get refund.

Provided by YP.comI ordered a floral display for my Godfather's Funeral service. I was told the flowers would be delivered by noon -before the 2pm service. I checked the status online and stated that "it was out for delivery". Then, as my family was on the way to the service (1 1/2hrs away), I called customer support to check on the status of the delivery. I was on-hold for 15-20 minutes!!! Then I was told that the "floral designer" overlooked the order and that she was leaving for the day. There was no one else to assist. I requested a FULL refund and was told the account manager would contact. Several days later, still no call. I contacted customer support again and was told that management has been notified and they would contact me. I asked when that would be and in what form -they did not know. I demanded to speak to a manager and they could not do so. I filed a dispute with my credit card and reported this activity or disservice to the BBB.
Customer support is HORRIBLE-they are unprofessional, they act as if they are being bothered by your phone call to place an order. There were many background sounds during the call -as if they are answering from a personal residence.
This was such a horrible experience especially as this was for my relative's FUNERAL!!
DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE CRIMINALS!!!!!!!!!!

Provided by YP.comDon't order anything ever from Avas Flowers. 2 days in advance, I requested flower delivery for a Saturday morning and was told on the phone that it would be delivered that morning. This was in advance of me meeting my future in-laws later that day, meant to be a special gift. Saturday afternoon rolled around, no delivery, so I called Avas. They said they don't guarantee that deliveries are made during a specific time of day and whoever I spoke to earlier was wrong. They also said my order was "out for delivery" and to call back after 5pm if the flowers didn't make it on time. 5 pm rolled around, no delivery, so I called Avas again. I was told that the office is closed, they would take my message, and call me back on Sunday morning. Sunday morning rolled around, the office opens at 9, no one called me. I called Avas a few hours later who told me that my order was not out for delivery in fact, and that UPS had it "on hold"; I said it would be fine if the flowers were delivered on Sunday and I was supposed to get a call back to confirm that this could still be done. I get no phone call confirming anything, so I call Avas and request a full refund. The person I spoke with said they would notify the Accounts Manager who was gone for the Labor Day holiday weekend, and that I should see the credit posted on my account by Tuesday. Tuesday 5 pm rolls around, no credit posted to my account. Instead, I get an email from Avas saying that my flowers were delivered on Tuesday, 3 days after the requested delivery date. I call Avas and they say that since the flowers were delivered, I cannot get a refund. Turns, out, the flowers were in a UPS box the entire long weekend and were delivered rotten to my future in-laws 3 days late. I was also told that a refund was never promised to me or even discussed with me according to their notes. They offered to resend a dozen roses, when I originally had ordered 2 dozen roses including a vase. However, the principle is lost as I already showed up to my future in-laws' house without a gift, and redelivery is a moot point after the long weekend with them is over. After discussion with multiple people and finally with David, I have been told that I will get a full refund but that it may take 7-10 days. Why they could not post the credit as immediately as they withdrew it is a major red flag, and 7 weeks went by, no credit granted as promised (i.e. THE PEOPLE RUNNING THIS COMPANY ARE CRIMINALS). I finally disputed the original charge on my credit card through Citibank, and only through this avenue was the credit granted back to me (because Avas could not proved that it delivered its product as advertised).
I don't think I have had a worse experience with any company in my life and wish I could have made a better impression on my in-laws.

Provided by YP.comOrdered online from Ava Flowers for an anniversary. Never had used them before, but was convinced by the good ratings. The order was confirmed for same day delivery and was never received. I tried to get a status about the order during the day using the online inquiry on their website, only to receive automated email replies.
Not until the next day (day after the anniversary) and after I initiated a call to Ava Flowers did I learn that they had not sent the order yet because they "needed to get fresh fruit for the basket". Are you kidding me? What business commits to same day service for special occasions and fails a customer with the excuse that it took an entire day to get fresh fruit? What business involving date-sensitive delivery does not respond to customer inquiries with detail about the status and makes you call the next day?
They offered an apology after I got upset. They offered to upgrade the order for free or cancel the order. I chose to cancel the order. I figured that if I chose the upgrade, it may take them another day to get more fresh fruit.

Provided by YP.comI placed an order on 10.12.12 to be delivered on 10.13.12, order # 91537. The arrangement was never delivered. When I called the 877 number on the website, after being transferred around SEVERAL times the young lady I spoke with about refunding my credit card said that the process would take 7 business days and that before she could begin to process it the her manager would have to approve it. When I requested to spoke with her manager she said that she would have to call me back. I think this is by far the most unprofessional flower company I have worked with. This company wasted my time by trying to send a nice gesture on a friends birthday. And now is wasting more of my time by jerking me around with getting my money refunded from inadequate business. I will never use this company again and will never recommend it to anyone!

Provided by YP.comThe ABSOLUTE WORST business I have ever delt with! Ordered over $300.00 worth of flowers for my Aunts funeral and they sent them to Colorado and I was in Windsor, Conn. OMG women said she wanted to make it right by giving me a refund and a gift basket...Please there were no flowers on the casket, talk about embarrassed! DO NOT EVER USE THIS FLORIST!!!!!!!! FOR ANYTHING! Doesn't deserve a star, hung up on me 3 times when I called after walking into the wake and there was nothing on the casket.
10/10/2012
Provided by YP.comI ONLY gave this company a 1 star rating because I couldn't post this without any stars, but they don't deserve even the 1 star!!!
I am ROYALLY UPSET at this TERRIBLE company!!!!! I wish I would have read the reviews about this company....I would have NEVER ordered from them!!!
They were suppose to have delivered flowers to a restaurant for my mother in law's 80th birthday and when I called to check on them I was told that my credit card had not been charged and there would be NO FLOWERS DELIVERED AS PLANNED!!! They said that the recipient and billing were the same and I even CALLED and ASKED if that was going to be a problem when I saw this after I placed the order and the girl said, "Oh no...that won't be a problem since you already paid with the credit card"......WHAT?!!!! Then I get a STUPID email from them saying that it WAS a problem. I have to work for a living, therefore, I didn't even see this email until I got home and then it was too late.
How can they continue to hurt people like this? With all the horrible reviews on them, you would think they would have a conscience about how many people they have hurt and UPSET but NOOOOOO!!!!!
How can they say that they're the best?
I am praying that there better not be ANY charges from them on my credit card. I didn't receive ANYTHING from them except grief and I hope I'm not charged for THAT either!!!

Provided by YP.comHORRIBLE is an understatement.... I received 9 dead tulips in a vase that was 4 times too big. When I called to let customer service know, I was on hold for 20 minutes and then I was told that tulips are out of season...like the dead flower shipment was MY fault! They say that Avas is a family owned business. I asked to speak with a member of the family who has a vested interedt in the busness' success and was placed on hold for another 30 minutes (I am still on hold now!) Pathetic!
10/01/2012
Provided by YP.comHORRIBLE!! Ordered flowers today for same day delivery to be delivered in Ohio. (I live in Chicago). Came home this afternoon as a floral delivery truck was delivering flowers to ME! I knew right away what had happened... called Avas, they laughed and said "this happens all the time, you put the delivery address in the wrong place" I was HORRIFIED!!! I order flowers all the time from Proflowers and have never had this problem. Went back on the website and entered another order just to make sure I was not crazy and there is NO WAY that I could have messed up the address... it only asks for delivery address.... give me a break. They were willing to make it "right" but only if I paid the a delivery fee again (13.95) and they would not be there until the next day.... the only other option was to cancel the order and be charged a 50% restock fee.... REALLY!
The flowers were less than I beautiful as the picture showed and could have been purchased at a local grocery store. But instead I have now paid $80 and am not even having them delivered when I wanted! I am so mad... worst experience ever with floral delivery...
I also find it very interesting that all the reviews are HORRIBLE except about 20 5 star ratings that all took place in a 3 day period... looks like they had all their employees do a quick save face rating of 5 stars... so pathetic!

Provided by YP.comI sent this to the customer service email at Avas Flowers:
I ordered flowers on sept 27 2012, expected delivery the same day as advertised (money came out of my account right away) and to my suprise sept 28th at noon time ...still no flowers. (these are for an employee's wife in the hospital) I called and was told (lied to ) that they were being delivered as we spoke on the phone. Well 4 hours later still no flowers! I called again and was put on hold then hung up on!! So i called back again, and was told they could not answer when or where the flowers went. At this time I just want my money back!! This is a demand for my money to be returned to my credit card asap! We own a business and I would fire everyone if this went on in my shop. We looked at the reviews on line about your company and were shocked. Wish I would have checked the reviews first! If my money is not deposited back in my bank I am writing the "BBB" and the NY -BBB to report the shabby practices your company uses. Your 1st and 2nd point of contacts i talked to were rude and could care less and should be fired! I WANT THE ORDER CANCELLED...AND MY MONEY BACK. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO CALL ME TO GET THIS RIGHT...THEN BE RESPONSIBLE AND FIX THIS PROBLEM.
Not a happy customer
Lets see if I even get a reply.
Everyone that was cheated by Avas Flowers needs to write the Better Business bureau so people can be warned about this company.
and this company does not deserve a star at all I just did not want anyone to think I missed it.
