Camarillo Independent will tell you what's wrong with your car, tell you how much it will cost to fix, and ask if you want it fixed or not before they do any repairs.

I just got my car back from Camarillo Indy and I'm so happy, as I always am. They do such a great job. I'm driving a 20-year-old Toyota, and it drives like new after they do any repair. I've been going to these guys since 1991. You can't do better than to go here. They are real professionals and have the experience and expertise to do the best job. They have real integrity and pride in their work.

I have had in the past nothing but great service from these fine folks...always prompt and great service from them... when I had My Harley Repair shop right down the street on Lewis... These guys do a good job. I took my 4runner in for diagnosis and they were able to tell me I had a bad valve. I appreciate their intelligence in figuring it out by doing a leak down test. I also took my truck there for a front end alignment and they gave me a deal. I don't know what the complainers want, but these guys do the job.

They are quick. Fixed my issue and suggested (but did not pressure to make) some service maintenance as my car is 90k miles. Runs a lot smoother now. Highly recommend.

My car was towed to this facility by AAA. I received very honest feedback about the state of repairs needed on my car, and John went out of his way to research alternatives prices for new and used parts. No fibbing. I also appreciated the tips for buying a new car from the owner. I felt I was educated in a productive manner that was not sexist. Super accommodating with letting me leave my car there while I determine how to move forward with a new car. I appreciated the honesty, education and concern for my well being.

I'm dropping a short note to make sure you know how happy I am with the results of your decisions for an extensive maintenance job that has made a completely new feel in my favorite Acura Legand. It feels just as sweet as it did brand new. You certainly know by now what complete confidence I have in your advice. I won't be as lax in keeping service dates in the months ahead.

Recently had some work done on my car at Camarillo Independent. I was on my way home from work and my car didn't sound or feel right, and had a slight but distinct smell from the engine area. I walked into Camarillo Independent without an appointment at closing time, explained my predicament to Brett, the owner, and he came out and did a diagnosis on my car.

Rather than go into the specific details, I am writing this review because I want to thank and commend Brett and his front desk staff - Maria and Jamie - for their outstanding service, kindness, and conscientiousness. You really helped me out, and I sincerely appreciate your effort to provide the highest quality service.

The go to if I need repair work done if I'm in the area

Used to live in the area, and we'd take every vehicle here that we owned, including a 02 Tundra we bought with a bad suspension. The owner Brett went through everything and really took care of us! Saved us thousands of dollars of repairs if we'd have kept the truck.

I ended up taking what's now my 2007 Titan down here from Yosemite area and realized I needed an oil change, and my transfer case fluid needing it as well, and some rattling. Uh oh! Bad shocks, some other problem that I'll be walking home? Damn

I live 3 miles off a dirt road, so I use the 4WD every day without fail, so I knew second task needed done real soon.

Normally I'll start my day leaving home in 4LO, and come back in 4HI, plus driving on snow, longer dirt roads etc..About 75% of my driving is in 4wd

According to the mechanic, the T case fluid was mud. Glad they noticed and took care of it!! The cause of the rattling was my trailer hitch. Doh! The things I didn't think of, but I appreciated the honesty and no upselling of things broken that actually aren't

With a AAA discount, I paid about $130 for 6 quarts of 5W30 + additive, the T case fluid, and a look around my truck. Not bad!!

My advice...use AAA discount, bring your car here for a excellent price for the quality of the work done, and drive on!

I've been taking my car to a place in Ojai (where I live) for 5 years and never had any problems or complaints. But last year my car broke down near Camarillo Independent, so I had no choice but to leave it in their hands with no prior knowledge about this place. They fixed my car very swiftly and the mechanics seemed knowledgeable and trustworthy.

I realize you can't please everyone and having said that & having gone to a Honda dealer for service mostly because being female, I didn't want to get ripped off, I decided to try Camarillo Independent. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised how professional and honest they were from the receptionist to the mechanic. Also comparing the prices for maintenance between the dealership and Camarillo Independent was significantly less using all the same Honda parts.
Now both my husband and I will continue to use them to service both our Honda cars.

I would just like to say that this shop is honest and very friendly. Much better than going to the Dealer and they do the same service and at a much better price. The dealer wanted over $1200.00 for the repairs I needed and they did it for just over $700.00 and I even got a AAA discount and a ride to and from my work location. Thanks Camarillo Independent for your great service. Customer for LIFE!!!!

Me and my family have taken 5 vehicles here over the past 4 years.
a motorhome, 2 passenger vehicles, a truck, and an SUV
The owner is a very nice man, and they do very honest work.
In addition, they are very quick (usually less than 2 days) and do not overprice what they do. They use only the best parts.
For the truck, i purchased it and took it there the next day; they immediately noticed suspension and transmission issues. Instead of fixing it immediately, they sat us down and told us exactly what had went on. If it wasn't for them, I would be stuck with a lemon!

I have been coming to Camarillo Independent since it was a small shop under the freeway at Lewis and the 101 and ALWAYS had a GREAT experience!

I work on my own vehicles a vast majority of the time. However, I am limited to what I can do with diagnostics in todays computer modulated cars. I have had nothing but great luck at this shop. Their techs work hard and know what they are doing. The folks at the front desk are friendly and try to minimize your wait time. When it comes to parts, whether its dealer or any auto repair shop, quality of parts are hit or miss. I know this shop try's to get the best parts for a reasonable price. By far better price than the dealer. Todays cars are not cheap to repair with all of the sophistication with ECM (electronic control module) and computer based equipment. As well as most parts are made of plastic and fall victim to heat from the engine. This shop try's hard to make your vehicle right again. I notice that they spare no expense on the most up to date diagnostic equipment to keep up with technology. Especially with California EPA and CARB requirements getting more and more strict.
