Camarillo independent is one of the most trust worthy and reliable automotive places I've been too. Everyone that works there has been nothing but nice to me. The prices are reasonable also. Of course there's going to be places that's will do repairs cheaper but you're also not going to get the quality of parts and service that Camarillo independent provides. I know I will not be going to any other automotive repair shop

AMAZING SERVICE! I was in from out of state with car issues, took my car in and they had me up and running in no time. Everything was very professional and amazing customer service! I felt right at home. If I wasn't 5 hours away they would for sure be my #1 shop to go to.

We've taken our cars to Camarillo Independent for about 8 years, and have enjoyed the friendly owners and the security of care for our cars. Winner!

After a couple of problems dealing with the local Toyota Oxnard Service department, I went searching for an independent auto service place that would take care of my 4 Toyotas. I decided to give Camarillo Independent Auto Repair a try and have been very happy for the last couple of years with their service on all my cars.

The front desk person is great and John (service manager?) is super in explaining what my cars need... Always letting me decide how to proceed.

Very nice folks, they explain what they are recommending and why. And their prices are somewhat lower (compared to the dealer).

About the only thing I miss from the local dealership was the "free" car wash my cars received after every service. But I can live without that as my price is lower (and the service better!) at this independent garage.

Today was my first visit to Camarillo Independent Repair so I can only base this review on today's visit for a smog check.

Although I didn't have an appointment they were kind enough to fit me in. I used a $35 smog check coupon from the newspaper, which by the way is a good $15 cheaper than most other shops. They apparently also offer discounts to AAA members.

Large clean waiting room although the A/C could have been set a little cooler.

Was in and out in less than 40 minutes. Would have no problem returning to Camarillo Independent in the future.

My husband and I have been coming here for at least 12 years and maybe even 15. This week I had to do some major work for me as my car is now out of warranty. I received a fair quote and decided to have them complete the work. I am so pleased with the work, the price and the excellent service I received. They are kind, courteous and have great customer service. Thanks, Camarillo Independent!

This was my second visit to Camarillo Independant Repair. Upon entering, I was greeted by one of the workers, an older gentleman who was very welcoming. I came in to have my car smogged. However, the last time I came, I had to set an appointment over a two day span.

When I tried to inquire about the appointment, the guy says to me, "I can fit you in and get it done for you in 15 minutes." and I thought to myself, "oh heak yeah!" To make a long story short, I got it done and I was out it a jiffy. Not too bad for being a Wednesday. Overall experience was great! I was so elated that I ended up leaving my credit card and had to come back to get it. haha. Most definitely I will come back here and get my car smogged again in the future.

I went to Camarillo Independent after comparing prices with 4 other shops to fix my teenage daughter's car which is pretty old, an 88 Camry. All 4 struts/shocks were worn out and needed to be replaced. I knew it was going to be expensive. Being a single dad with a small budget to work with, I took a chance of going with the lowest-priced shop. I was told by Brian that the part they were using was more reliable than what other mechanics normally use and I took his word for it (normally I don't because I've been burned one too many times). I wasn't sure if I was compromising the quality of the work based on the price but the end result didn't disappoint me. The shop did a great job and they even found a way to come up with a specialized socket for my daughter's rims, which I had lost. Overall, I give them 4 stars because of a little hiccup that was resolved right away.

Great help and very affordable. The service was great and I would advice anyone to go there if needing a smog check. Quick service

We have used this place on and off for years. Just had our '03 Highlanders check engine light on, the dealer wanted almost a grand. A bad oxygen sensor was to blame. I decided today to see how much Camarillo Independant would be. How about $388 after my AAA discount.and that included a smog check. I'm no genius, but that seems like a pretty big savings. Icing on my car repair cupcake.the service writer Holly called half an hour later to say I won some kind of AAA contest and will get a $100 gift card. On that note I'm going to buy some lotto tickets.

I have a big family and I will tell them about this place. They run a 5 stars family owned and operated business. AAA discounts and mention Yelp for a 10% off labor

I am from out-of-town--- not comfortable going to auto repair for serious unknown brake problem.
Back home I have ha, top mechanic for decades.
A retired physician, near where I am staying, said, with my Lexus, a family owns a shop 30 minutes away that specializes in Toyota and Honda line--- that they have been there more than 30 years.
That they will drive you home and pick you up--- 35 minutes each way for me.
After Brett quoted me (fairer than I could expect), Maria, mother and wife, questioned me as to discount. Never before, after price agreed, has any company sought giving me a discount.
Repairs began that day. Maria picked me up following morning.
I told her, I, almost, would like to come back following morning, and start again.
Have been driving, and feels like it just came off showroom floor.
These folks are keepers.

I have been taking my vehicle to Camarillo for 15 yrs always honest service & great staff. I continue to take my vehicles to Camarillo independent.

These people are just the best! I took my car early in the morning because my seatbelt was locked and there was nothing I myself could do about it. The front desk lady was nice and she treated me as tho I am the only customer there and she took the time making sure my car is taken care of. They unlocked my seatbelt in an instant and they did not even charge me for the work done. I understand it was a small work and did not involve much but then again, they did not charge me. I was so thankful and humbled.
If you need anything related to auto repair then you can trust these people to help you to solve any issues.

I had a nagging problem with my 2014 Chevy truck, it had an intermittent rough idle that the dealer tried to fix twice to no avail. I took it to another shop that a friend recommended that also was baffled by the problem. Camarillo Independent was recommended to me by yet another friend, I was actually starting to think about selling the truck because it was so annoying to have this rough idle show up at always the worst times, the truck would cough and sputter for a few minutes and eventually would run ok again. I took my truck in and met with the owner, Brett. He test drove it and luckily the problem showed up while we were on the test drive. Brett suspected it was some smog related valve that was sticking and confusing the engine computer. Brett told me he thought he knew what was going on and would check it out and call me before doing any work. I left the truck to be fixed and they gave me a ride home. Brett called me about two hours later, said he found the problem and said it would ready to go in about 30 minutes. They sent a driver to pick me up and when I got to the shop my truck was out front and ready to go. The whole bill was less than $300.00 and it has now been just over a month without a single repeat of the problem.

I will be taking all my cars to these guys from now on, I was really impressed with their service from start to finish! I would not hesitate to recommend Brett to anyone, he is a class act!

Great service, turnaround time was better then estimated. Requested a duplicate key with an embedded chip, a service that Camarillo Independent provides instead of going to the dealer. They furnished the additional key and recoded both the new and old key within a couple hours -- less time than they estimated it would take

We can't thank Camarillo Independent enough for the repair to our 2006 Prius. We didn't think that they would be able to diagnose the issue with the check engine light that came on intermittently. This car has 205,000 miles on it and we hope to keep driving it for another year or two. It seemed to drive much better on the way home, time. Camarillo Independent has kept this little car running well for over 4 or 5 years. I quit taking it to the "Stealership" when they kept finding problems that weren't there. Camarillo Independent SAVES me $$$$ because the diagnose, repair and educate you on how to maintain your car to make it last. They always manage to get me in to repair my car and communicate the issues and when they will get the car back to you. Thank you to John, Brett and Jamie and the guys in the back that do the repairs to keep me on the road.
